Junior High – www.standupyouth.org/Strong Our Junior High ministry is designed to bring our Jr. High youth to a better understanding of who God is and what He has done for them. We also want to give them the biblical principles upon which they will build their Christian lives. We stress the importance of establishing times of personal Bible study, prayer, serving in their local church, establishing healthy relationships with their peers, responding correctly to their parents instruction, sharing their faith with others by bringing Glory to God through all of these things, and of course having fun at the same time. In order to
accomplish these goals we offer the following programs: Sunday School— Sunday school is an opportunity for young people to come together in worship, and to learn the biblical principles that they will base the rest of their lives upon. The curriculum is designed to provoke thought, growth, and involve them with the Word of God on a personal level. Trek—Trek is an AWANA program designed to get the young person into the Word of God and to memorize it, study it, and make their decisions based upon it. This program meets on Tuesday evenings during the school year. Youth Events— Every other month an outside event is held for the young people. These events range from game nights, attending professional sporting events, outreach events, and summer camp.
Summer
Bible Study— In the summer
months we combine our Jr. and Sr. High programs and meet on
Sr. High – www.standupyouth.org Sr. High is a time of change in the lives of young people. It is also a time of great decision, friendship, and growth. With these things in mind our goal is to give them a solid foundation on which they will stand for the rest of their lives. They will be taught the truths of Scripture as the foundation for all else. They will be taught that the Word of God is 100% true and that it is applicable and necessary in our every day lives. We will provide an environment where they can grow; spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially. Our main focus is to bring honor and glory to our Savior Jesus Christ, and to serve one another with the gifts that He has given to us. Our key verses are “Philippians 2:1-5 If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.”
In order to accomplish these
goals the following programs are available: Sunday School— Sunday school is an opportunity for young people to come together in worship, and to learn the biblical principles that they will base the rest of their lives upon. The curriculum is designed to provoke thought, growth, and involve them with the Word of God on a personal level. It is also a time for leadership to build relationships with the young people, and to encourage them on a personal level to daily be in the Word and in prayer. Wednesday Night Bible Study—This time is set aside for prayer, study of the word, fellowship and fun in games. The emphasis is on building relationships both with our Lord and Savior, but also with one another. An example of the type of studies we have gone through is “The Christian Adventurer” which is a study through John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress. Teen Leadership Bible Study—This is a time set aside for those within our group who show leadership qualities and would like to develop those qualities into becoming Christian leaders. In this time we will focus on the doctrines of the faith, great men and women of the faith, service to others, and the need for discipleship and accountability. We will meet once a month for this purpose. Youth Events— Youth events are scheduled regularly and include events such as outreach events, missions trips, paintball, pizza nights, sporting events, rock climbing, summer and winter retreats, white water rafting, youth led church services, and TIC-TAC (Teens In Church Teens After Church). We would like to invite you and your 9-12 grader to visit our program and see what we are about. I trust that you will find a group of young people whose main goal is to bring honor and glory to our Lord and to boldly share their faith through their speech, attitudes, and actions with those who are around them. |
