Message from Pastor Cook:

John 17:17 states “Sanctify them in the truth, thy Word is Truth.” As the assistant/youth pastor here at First Baptist Community Church, it is my desire to come along side of the family and help guide and direct young minds in the truths of God’s Word.

My desire is to see young men and women who wholly give their lives over to bringing glory to our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Also, my goal is to establish patterns of accountability, discipleship, and leadership within their lives as tools that will serve them throughout their Christian walk.

I am dedicated to the authority and the knowable truths found in the Word of God. Having seen first hand the impact of postmodern teachings such as the relativity of truth, and the inability to know truth, I believe it is even more imperative that we stand firm in the teachings of the sufficiency, perspicuity, inerrancy, and infallibility of the Word of God.

You and your teens are invited to join us each week as we worship our Lord through singing praises to Him, teaching his word, outreach, and many other fun activities.

Jonathan M. Cook joined us in 2008. He has been in the ministry since 2000. He graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, WI in 2002. He is on track to graduate in June of 2008 from Cornerstone Seminary in Vallejo CA. He served as part time assistant pastor of Sunrise Valley Baptist Church in San Jose CA for six years. He is also currently serving in various roles at Pilot Lake Regular Baptist Camp Inc. He and his wife Patti have one young daughter.
